What are Teleconferences?
In a nutshell, a teleconference is a meeting between two or more individuals. Traditionally they are held using telephones but these days the internet is used to hold web conferences, webinars etc.
What are they used for?
Teleconferences are used to hold meetings between groups of people such as stock holders or internet marketing. Any club, organisation or group can use teleconference software to setup a meeting and accomplish the goals of the group.
Be Prepared
Teleconferencing is just like doing a presentation when in school. Just like preparing for a presentation, you need to prepare for a teleconference. Hosts will need to have done their research before having participants sign up.
The first thing to consider is the topic. The host will need to be able consider every piece of information to answer any anticipated questions beforehand. The purpose and goals of the conference will need to be also stated so that participants will know where the conference is heading.
For example, if you are hosting an internet business opportunity, then you will need to include how everything really works. There will be many questions such as how the money is made, how to promote the business, compensation questions etc. These are all issues that should be dealt with within the actual presentation of the teleconference meeting.
It might be bearing in mind, that many people, like to see or hear an introduction of the presenter and how they got started with the program they are promoting. If the number of participants is small it could be worthwhile hearing introductions of all the participants.
Another issue to consider is to remember to block out participants conversations to prevent interruption during the presentation. A specific portion of the teleconference meeting could be devoted to a "Questions and Answers" session. Making a checklist of everything that needs to be gone over is a perfect idea so as to not get off track, and having that list in front of you will help walk you through the teleconference meeting.
All of these things are important to consider when preparing for a teleconference meeting. Remembering that this teleconference should be helping both you and the participants is most beneficial, and that reasoning should automatically lead you to a more successful presentation and meeting.
